Well, Duke's first ever Thursday night showcase is in the rear-view mirror and we move forward to the season finale against Wake Forest. Wake Forest, who, amazingly, did what we couldn't- and beat the Hokies. Therefore, I don't think this game is quite the "cupcake" we once imagined. And, while it's lost some importance, it does stand between us and, potentially, ANOTHER 10-win season...and that's a sentence I never thought I'd type about Duke Football.

Anyhoo, let's finish the season up strong. We'll be doing a tailgate but, before we can officially settle on the menu, we'd like to get an idea of how many folks to expect. So, if everyone who plans to attend could post their headcount ASAP it would be tremendously helpful.

We are rallying the troops for Kaitlyn's farewell football appearance for the cheerleading team. Siblings are converging from far and wide for the Thanksgiving holiday, and they are coming to Wallace Wade also in a show of support! We are planning to have 2+4 for a total of six (Art and Debbie, brother Jason, his girfriend Kelly, brother Adam, and Kaitlyn's boyfriend (and Blue Devil 'rassler) Andrew.

Also, to add injury to insult, we suspect that some drunken, obnoxious Carolina fan (I realize that phrase is redundant) stole our softside cooler at some point while we were at the game Thursday night. The cooler has blue and white stripes and a Duke logo on it. We are holding out some hope that a fellow Cue Crewer rescued it and put it in a safe place. If so, please bring it to the Wake Forest game so we can claim it. Thanks, and let's all root those Devils on to a strong finish!!!

Lots of cheer families will be in town. Cheermom +20 although cheerhusband, cheerdaughter, and cheerson will be making a very brief appearance before heading off to coaching and alumni band duties. I will bring a double batch of salad and deviled eggs for sure. Maybe something else if the mood strikes me. Everyone will contribute the requisite $$.
