Time to get this thread rolling. UNC is an unpredictable team, and unfortunately, so are we.
I am assuming we'll come out a bit pissed off after our Saturday performance, but Carolina will be just as motivated coming off a win, eyeing staying bowl eligible, and hungry to get the bell back.
GTHC!!!! :9f:

If the defense plays as good as they did against Virginia Tech, and the offense plays better; we will win. We need the good Anthony Boone to show up on Thursday.

Vegas has set the over/under at 66.5 points. In ACC Games, Carolina is yielding 39.3 points per game compared to 22.5 by Duke.

Cheaters lose a running back and gain one. The guy that is out doesn't seem to be a big loss for them, but he's depth. The guy returning is coming back from suspension. (Since they run such a disciplined program over there.)
With Morris expected to return from his suspension against Duke, the Tar Heels will have three healthy running backs that have attempted a rush on the season – Morris, Logan and Charles Brunson. Brunson carried two times against Pitt, his first attempts since Week 1 against Liberty when he rushed nine times.

I think I'm more worried about their QB breaking containment and tackles and carving large swaths of turf in WW.

My dad made an interesting comment at the VT game. He could not read those numbers at all from up top, and I had a hard time too. They should be all white in the middle for better visibility.

The color scheme and design make it more difficult to read the numbers on the backs. At night, maybe it will be harder to call penalties.

I prefer to call this scheme Black Magic. ;;)

I really desire to see us come out and run the ball tonight. We need to use our talented offensive line and pound away at the Tar Heels defense. Because I am a glutton for punishment, I've watched the VT game several times on ESPN3 and it is amazing how successful we were running the ball in the 1st quarter. We ran the option pitch four times in the 1st quarter and gained > 10 yards each time. Then we got pass happy and lost all rhythm on offense.

Boone pitched the ball to both Snead and Wilson with success. Running outside opens up the inside, just like running inside opens up the outside. We need run/pass balance on offense and variety in both run and pass play calling.

I never imagined the day I would be disappointed in a 9 win season. Assuming we beat Wake, I will be disappointed in a 9 win season.
It's not losing that bothers me, it's how we are losing. This team is actually regressing. Grrrrrrr.

Two games, 6 TO, 38 points gifted to VT and the cheaters. Two games, 4 TO caused, 0 points, IIRC. It'll be difficult to beat WFU, who gave Clemson a good game for about three quarters, with performances like that.

Cut has convinced us to expect better than what we saw the last 2 games. I certainly do. We went back to 2007 performances with our last 2 showings (or no shows). At home. On national tv. With a full house. With more Duke fans there than unc. To a team that was near the worst defensive team in D1.

I hope you're not going to punish yourself again and watch this POS several times on espnwhatever like you did with the VT game. X(

I will try to contain my anger and say just a few thoughts.

That was the most embarrassing performance by a Duke football team that I have ever witnessed. When we were losing to everybody by 30+ it was okay, because we had no talent. Last night, we had the more talented team. We had the better coaching staff. We were playing at home with a crowd that was 80% Duke fans. Carolina played better, they played harder, they played smarter, and they wanted it so much more last night. It was obvious. Shaq Powell quote after the game was one of the stupidest things I have ever heard... "We thought they weren't going to play that hard."

It's almost funny to think about how terrible they played last night. I'm glad UNC won because they flat out deserved it last night. 8-3 seemed like a dream just three season ago. But it is time for people like myself to stop saying that. That was three years ago. Now, in 2014, we have the talent and the personal to win the type of games that we just lost. It really did seem like Carolina was much more prepared for the primetime game than we were. That Duke team last night showed no heart, no emotion, and seemed content getting their asses beat on national television.
