Alright folks, for the 3rd time today I have been called out for my horrible/worst ever quoting ability, or complete lack, thereof. Time for some on-line lessons. Teach away...

The key is that the number of tags reading 'quote' and those reading '/quote' must be equal, and there must be no more than three each (tag examples denoted by quotation marks instead of brackets, lest the software think I'm actually quoting...also, I love the word "lest"). Your problem is that you're repeatedly trying to quote too many posts at once.

I knew I was trying to quote too many posts at once. I had a few posters become offended I didn't include their posts in the past so I try to include too many now.

I'm sorry, I guess the saying "we hurt the ones we love the most" prevails!!!! But I REALLY WASN't TRYING TO do that!
What I do... is quote in separate window when I encounter the confounded 3 quote limit and then do the folllowing:
1. a quote starts with a person's name, they type text and when it is done it ends with a matching "/quote", so
2. if you see a bracket "["name of person"]" .... whatever they said ... and quote in brackets, then this is their wording between their name and the quote
3. if there is more than 3 people, I usually get rid of the last name3 that shows up and there text all the way to the first "/quote" encounter and then all is good!
For example, "
name1 wrote:" "
name2 wrote:"
"name3 wrote:" text for name3, "
", text for name2 "
" and text for name 1 "
"....
so delete the "name3 wrote:", text for name3, "
" ....
and then your text will apply.
I really wasn't making fun, but I have been looking for my break to get into teaching!

Let's see if that worked...
Nope. I tried a couple different things. Computer dense.

I think I have mastered the quoting problem now after my private, but supervised, tutorial with ILJ.
Sadly therefore, BONES, your services will no longer be needed.
HOWEVER, I will still be glad to sample another of your 'tini creations in exchange for a fine ale of my choosing. ;) Deal?

How many times are you planning to use it in your dissertation not counting quotations of primary sources?

At least half a dozen. I am also planning to leave the archive in a few minutes, lest I go crazy. Need to get out and get some fresh air in one of my last few days in this fairest of cities.

Unfortunately this board doesn't (yet) support multi-quoting, so you'll have to do it the old fashioned way. Copy the text you want to quote, then paste it into the text field, then manually add the quote bracket thingies. Fun.
