Duke (22) at Syracuse 12:30 Kick (ACC or RSN)

We are ranked 20th in the coaches poll. I am very happy that this will be played in a dome; I think the weather played a factor in the game vs. Pitt. I was wondering early on if the cold and damp field played into some of the missed tackles; it was like watching someone trying to catch greased pigs.
I am certain the team will be ready for this game, and each one following. The nice thing about our remaining schedule is that there are no "big games" looming, as in lofty opponents. That should help us stay focused on the game at hand and the ultimate prize, locking up the coastal for a trip to Charlotte.

This is another tough but absolutely winnable road game especially for the now #20 ranked Devils. Win that one and VT at home doesn't look all that bad the following week although the 2340980980th NOON kickoff for the VT game is damned frustrating!!

That kickoff time should be confirmed today when they release the 11/15 game times. It's like waiting for Blewitt to send the inevitable game winner through the uprights. ;)
Edit...it's confirmed.

The noon kickoffs are so damn frustrating!! Every tailgate is amazing, but I love tailgating between 11am-6pm rather than 9am-noon. Most likely our game against Wake Forest will also be a noon kick.

I hope not, and I doubt it. I would guess 3:30 for that one. Crossing fingers.

This is a very interesting road game as I have no idea what to expect from Syracuse. Yes, they are 3-6 and their best win is against Wake Forest. They just lost to a North Carolina State team that has not won an ACC game since 2012. And their only home win this year was a double-OT win against FCS Villanova. But this is a team that has played so many close games against some really good competition. Syracuse went to Clemson and was only down three late in the fourth quarter before Clemson pulled away. They also played pretty close with Notre Dame and Louisville who are both really solid teams.
Injuries have really hurt the Orange this year. They were without eight players on Saturday, including their starting quarterback Terrell Hunt. Their offense has been really bad this year, so I expect our defense to look a lot better this Saturday. I think this is a game we should win by 10-15 points, but with it always seems like road ACC games are never that easy. We have not won a road conference game comfortably since the win at NC State in 2009, (49-28).

JERSEY UPDATE
Our boys will be wear all white this Saturday against Syracuse. White helmet, white jersey, white pants. If you were wondering, the last time we went with the white-out look was in 2011 for a road loss to Miami, 49-14. Hopefully our luck in the all white changes this weekend!
GO DUKE!!

The all white is a classic look! Injury report is very promising with S Deondre Singleton being PROBABLE and backup CB Alonzo Saxton OUT. For Syracuse, it appears they will be playing their 3rd String QB as the 2nd String guy "most likely will not play" due to nerve issues in his arm/back. Their starter has been out with a broken leg for several games.
N.C. State recorded eight sacks against Syracuse last week so look for DC Jim Knowles to dial up the heat.

Predictions from fans are a complete waste of time, but they sure are fun:
Duke 23, Syracuse 14
I believe the Orange will tighten up in the Red Zone and force us to kick field goals on several drives. I'm okay with that because we have Ross Martin.

So with news of Syracuse looking like they will be using their 3rd string QB, that prediction might be a bit off. Duke 23, Syracuse 3?

PS..I expect use to pile on at least 30 points.

I'm interested to see how good Syracuse's defense will be against us. With that said, they have so many
Injuries and not much motivation for this game.
I like us to make a statement.
Duke 34 Cuse 13

A team playing for pride can be a scary group to face. If Wake had the legs to be a 4th quarter team, they could have beaten Clemson last night.

With the 3rd. string QB in, 3 offensive linemen out and the color commentator off air because of a DUI, Syracuse is set for a special performance.
