It looks like I may be getting a David Cutcliffe autographed football. If so, I'd like to have it on display at our tailgates if it wouldn't be in the way.

It's almost time! We are now officially less than three weeks away. I'll be journeying to Chez TNT this weekend to work on our tent; the grill is in the shop getting some repairs made to it as well. It put in a good, hard season last year and got some war wounds that needed tending to. Plus, TNT is replacing the bottle opener with one that works. Whew!

I'm sure by the 30th it will be 95 and humid. The summer has been too mild so far. Must stock up on bottled water for the first tailgate, (been stocking up on beer all summer).

TNT and I had an exhausting, yet productive weekend working on the new tent. It will obviously be a design in process as we work towards what fits our needs the best combined with what is most simple to put up an take down.

Accuweather forecast for August 30 shows a 41% chance of precipitation during the morning, early afternoon with the weather clearing in the late afternoon, evening:

Hello Duke fans, lifelong Duke fan here(26 years). I was wandering how I could become more involved with you guys during the football season, due to my work schedule I cant make every game but I make every game that i can. I was by your tailgate last year against Miami and had just as good of a time outside Wallace Wade as I had inside Wallace Wade that night, and we all remember how that ended.

. Was wandering if just anybody could stop by your tent during "tailgate time", drop a couple of bucks in the bucket and enjoy fellowship with fellow Blue Devil fans. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you and Go Duke

First off, welcome!
Second off, we would love to have you join us. Those of us that make a point to be at every game contribute annually ($75 each) to help us keep the spot since Duke doesn't give us that amazing location for free, but all are welcome. We'll have our tip jar out once again. The annual fee goes towards the spot itself, and amenities such as the tents and grill that we provide, but TNT and myself spend about $300 per game, and hours of planning, prepping, not-to-mention the game-day effort, so any contributions to the jar is very much appreciated. We love being able to host the party, but it is always easier getting up at 6am game day knowing that we have the funds to make it all happen once again our next game. We love the company, any Duke fan adds to our atmosphere. If you can only make one game, or all 7, the tip jar will be there.
If you (or anyone else) is interested in joining as a full member, shoot a pm to Ozzie4Duke, and he will help you out with more info.

Thank you very much, I look forward to meeting some of you folks on Saturday against Elon. I work in Burlington with Ronnie Hornadays brother, Ronnie is the guy i was with last year at the Miami game. Looking forward to Saturday.

Just to elaborate on what CB&B said, guests are always welcome. "Members" either bring food and beverages to contribute to the group effort, or drop (typically) $10 per person into the tip jar to help defray the costs. Little kids don't pay, unless they start drinking our beer... Most folks bring their own beverages of choice. Sometimes there is extra room in our coolers for others' beverages, but not always, so it's best if you can bring your own cooler and ice, too. Paper plates, plastic-ware and napkins are provided. See the "menu and attendance" thread to see what's on the main menu and what others are bringing. NOTE: we ask that folks don't bring "store bought" chicken, etc. The Colonel and Bo party elsewhere! Our food is much, much, MUCH better!

If you (and that's a generic "you") are just coming to a game or two, you're a welcome guest. If you're coming to most of the games, we ask that you become a member! That way you get my emails and know what's going on behind the scene.

Early forecast, highs in the low 90's, partly cloudy. The game will be on ESPN3, I'm bringing my Kindle (with working HDMI cable this time) so we can enjoy it under the tent, too.
