Muir Woods Painting #3

Post by CameronBornAndBred » July 20th, 2009, 11:32 pm

Last of the series for a bit. This was a challenge. It is less detailed than anything I have done recently, and took less time, but it took guts to paint it. It's a pretty dark piece, and not nearly as dark as I envisioned, but that's ok. I think it came out better than I foresaw with a touch more color. Anyways, I'm very happy with it. It's just not a very happy painting.

I love it! I love the way you get your watercolors to go so dark. And Muir Woods is one of my favorite spots on earth.

Great that you met your objective. That's always gratifying and a relief! That one was definitely "moody". Now then, I need you to paint me somethin' "happy".

That'd be awesome. Just make sure it's dry before you read it! :))

I'm not an artist at all, so I'm not even sure what WOULD make a good cover. Maybe, when the time comes, I'll just let you read it, and then YOU could propose a cover to ME. And I'm not joking about this. I'm dead serious. I couldn't afford to pay you much, but we could probably work out you getting a cut of every book sold. That could be lucrative, if the book doesn't suck. ;)

It is kinda dark as you said, but it reminds me totally of my impression from Muir Woods from several years ago. It captures the scenery extremely well. A great jolt to my memories.
