This is the anger thread.
At lunch, someone decided it'd be a good idea to talk politics. This is always a poor choice for workplace lunchtime conversation, but it's especially so at a conservative Christian school with distinctly divided viewpoints among the faculty. I was asked to chime in, which is an especially bad idea for me, given that my viewpoints are in the minority around here and I hold to them, ahem, rather strongly. As politely as possible, but also forcefully, I said, "I don't want to get into that; it's a bad idea to talk about a topic like that at lunch." One person said, "OK, then how about let's talk about the Braves?" That guy knows full well how I feel and that it's been a crappy week for me owing to my (embarrassingly) strong feelings on the matter. So I basically had no choice but to leave the table.
