Dylan (demon poodle) is 15. That's pretty old for a standard poodle. Actually it is really old for a big dog. He is mostly blind. He is senile. Having been an agility dog and a athlete physically he's in pretty good shape. He still launches on and off the furniture at will. He's got lumps/bumps at least some of which are probably malignant (at his age I will not treat them, so why test them). He eats if I cook for him. He has good days, he has bad days.
The short version is that the end of his days are coming soon. I know several dog friends who have used Lap of Love. Having taken dogs on the 'last ride' to the vet I am a huge advocate of the in home option. Based upon all the stories I have heard these are wonderful compassionate folks that provide an alternative to the vets office.
Although it started in Florida, there are locations nationwide. I see a couple in NC. I know there are pet lovers on this list, so I wanted to pass along my endorsement.
