Looks like the kickoff is at 12:30 for the Navy game, Oct. 12 and on the ACC Network... at least I won't feel guilty about eating bacon!

Bacon and guilt don't belong in the same sentence. :AR! :9f:

Since Bacon is the topic de jour or rather "quotidien", I give you Bacon ratings from Consumer Reports:

No. Most of the students don't know where Wally Wade is located, and therefore, wouldn't be able to bring their parents to the event.

Duke will be playing in Blacksburg that weekend.

I'm sorry I won't see you then.

Cool. We get Kirkland bacon all the time. Glad to know Consumer Reports sees it my way. :AR! :9f:

I've got no problems with the </snark> but I must argue that Son of BostonDevil is not most students. ;) He's been to every home football game so far, this year and last.

@LG: I'm on a mission to get some Kirkland bacon! (Also, my sympathy on that tough fantasy loss last night, Areas was amazing!)

On a side note, I just saw where the AD @ Air Force says the Gov't shutdown could cancel their game with Navy this weekend.... by virtue could it then interfere w/ Duke / Navy?? Stupid Gov't!

Kirkland bacon.... =p~ It comes in packs of four, and we usually buy two. Sometimes the Rev thinks I'm under stress and buys three.

Thanks for the sympathy on losing in FF to TigerDevil. My QB was great, but the rest of those slackers sucked. X(

In all honesty, I am worried about our game next week. (I'm worried about BobGreen and everyone else who is impacted by the shutdown, except Congress. They can go screw themselves.) :9f:

FYI, Army is scheduled to play Eastern Michigan, at West Point, on 10/12. Wonder if they'd like to make plans to come to Durham.

Air Force is supposed to play on 10/10, at home against San Diego St. I suspect the Aztecs would think we are too far away for a visit. :Pirate: :9f:

According to the article I linked on the football board, the issue isn't funding per se, but military travel restrictions to which the upperclassmen would be subject. So home games would not be affected, only away games.

P.S. Is this the proper thread on which to place my omelet order?

So Navy can't travel to Duke, but all the other service academies can play because their games are at home. Lovely. X( :AR! :9f:

FYI:

http://www.navysports.com/sports/m-foot ... 13aac.html

This says the Department of Defense has suspended all intercollegiate competitions at the service academies. :Pirate: :9f:
