Duke vs. Troy, 9/28 3:30 kickoff - Social Discussion thread
Imagine that....it's time for another tailgate! And homecoming. And a ton of Duke employees. And the one day we will see more than 4 porta potties.
Menu discussions have begun, we will of course post the M&A once we have some ideas and wake up from the last tailgate.

What's the over/under on how many yards the *efense will surrender and total points scored by both teams ?Bob Green wrote:Duke opens as an 11 points favorite over Troy.
I will give them some credit though for the second half. They were only responsible for surrendering 7 and only about 130 yds. The coaching staff gave Pitt 7 for their moronic decision to go for it at our 35 with 4th and 1 and have our punter complete a pass for a 5 yd loss . If you are gonna go for it, put your best offense in there and let BC, Snead or Duncan get that yard for you. Offense gave up the other 7 with BC's 4th INT of the day .

I would bet the over in this one, provided the number didn't look like my zip code.

The over/under is currently 63 points so Vegas is looking at a 37-26 Duke win. I'll take Duke and the over.devildeac wrote:What's the over/under on how many yards the *efense will surrender and total points scored by both teams ?Bob Green wrote:Duke opens as an 11 points favorite over Troy.

I watched Troy play a Thursday night game a couple weeks ago. High scoring, no defense from either team. Troy's QB made some seriously stupid decisions, but he can throw the ball. You know they are going to try to torch our secondary many times. I'm looking for a few INT's going in Cockrell's hands.

I just googled "Where is Troy," and got maps of Turkey, the Aegean Sea, and upstate New York. I refined my search to "Where is Troy University," and I learned that it is in Alabama, and that they have a 300 piece marching band called "The Sound of the South." I hope they bring their band to Durham. We could be in for a real treat at halftime.

Troy's mascot is T-Roy, the Trojan. At one time they were called the Red Wave, as if an offspring of the Alabama Red Tide. Contributors to the university fundraiser are called Warriors. Car dealers can become Trojan Wheels with benefits like 4 Stadium Club seats for home games, a personal locker in the Stadium Club, etc. They live in the shadow of Nick Saban and the University of Alabama.

I would also take Duke to cover 11 and the Over. I'm interested to see if the simulations show monster scores as well especially since last week was a definite outlier simulation-wise!
Weather is also currently showing mostly sunny with high of 78 and only 10% chance of rain w/ 5 mph winds. Great weather to score in....

Here is the obligatory satellite image (putting our tax dollars to a good use supporting Tailgate). The image updates automatically every 15 minutes.

IMHO, there are lots of poorer uses for our tax dollars!Bob Green wrote:Here is the obligatory satellite image (putting our tax dollars to a good use supporting Tailgate). The image updates automatically every 15 minutes.

Re: Duke vs. Troy, 9/28 3:30 kickoff - Social Discussion thr
Looks like it's just me for the tailgate tomorrow and as such I have an extra ticket (w/ a seatback) if anyone would care for it. If someone needs two they can have them both. Look for me at the tailgate early and you can have them, although you may want to let me know ahead of time so I won't promise them to multiple folks...

I would like to take a moment and say thanks to TNT Devil for the rescue of my chair and its safe return. Much appreciated. See everyone tomorrow. AW.
