Pittsburgh kick-off time announced

The Pittsburgh game in Wallace Wade Stadium on Sept 21 will kick-off at 12:30 pm and be televised by the ACC Network. I like Saturday afternoon football, but I was hoping for a 4 pm or 6 pm kick-off in order to facilitate a full day at Tailgate.

The ESPN influence in scheduling for the conference is not very pleasing. I hope Duke gets mega bucks for this inconvenience!

Back to calling it a brunchgate. Let's hope it's temporary.

This is an important game but I'm going to stop short of calling it a must win situation. However, a loss will be disappointing. In addition to our game, this weekend will provide us a solid glimpse at arch enemy Carolina who travels to Atlanta to play Georgia Tech. While the transitive property doesn't apply to football, it would be nice to see GT whip Carolina worse than they whipped us. And next week Virginia plays at Pittsburgh.

I wouldn't say must win either, although it would get us half way to bowl eligibility with Troy as the next best shot. If we can come out of September with 4 wins, that will be huge. Then we only have to beat Wake (looking like a good chance there) and one other, as opposed to Wake and two others.

Play calling has been vanilla through the first three games. Any chance we see some new stuff against Pitt? Jet sweep, toss sweep, end around, reverse, RB screen, double pass, half back pass, flea flicker....the variations are limitless or limited...it all depends on the staff's mindset.
Thoughts?

From Laura Keeley on Twitter:
#Duke health update -- flu-like symptoms have been going around the team. Cut estimated about 15 guys were adversely affected this week.
The $64,000 question is, "Which 15 players?"

New strategy. Puke on the opposing player.

Two thoughts:
Dry clothing is underrated.
The fact that we showed fight doesn't make up for the stupid mistakes, not just by Connette but by lots of folks

We got the top billing in the sports section of the Raleigh N&O over the cheaters this AM. The actual print headline is:
DEFENSELESS
The on-line article is a bit more kind with its headline.
