...and It sounds like the crowd is going crazy chanting "Let's Go Heat". But the screen shows them all just sitting there like department store manikins. Is all that enthusiasm piped in like they've been known to do in the dumb dome? :-?
Love, Ima

This is south Florida, I think they are just there to look good. But then, we have that problem here in San Antone.

If you are watching the Heat/Spurs play in San Antonio, you are probably seeing my brother.

Not famous but his seats are at the mid court end of the visitor's bench. I picked him out one game last year by his shirt (advertising the Harley Dealership) and his cigar (unlit). Last few times, he has been wearing a Hawaiian print shirt. He looked really happy on Tuesday. As much as I like Battier, I'm pulling for the Spurs. Ideally, I'd like Battier to get a lot of playing time and play well but the rest of the team stink. I really admire Tim Duncan.

Series is now tied 2-2. My emotions are similar, DIK. Barrier does well but Spurs win. So far, Shane hasn't done much.

Trifecta. I can NOT pull for the Heat. So big games for Shane, high degree of suckage for the rest of the team.

Did you see Ole Roy Williams at the game last night? Good for Roy to escape the situation with PJ and his escapades. Always good for a kid to have their former Head Coach supporting them, especially in the NBA championship series.

I wish Shane would come alive and turn up the HEAT!! Would love to see Coach K in attendance and support Shane and his former Team USA players!

I haven't watched all of this game - and it isn't over yet - but it sure seems like LeBron James whines a lot. Is that just my imagination or do others see the same thing?

Shane Battier is the numbers guy, the statistics specialist, the percentages guru.

You talk about basketball as a game, he can make it sound like a science. Every movement has a purpose. Every basket happened because of a minor detail that occurred before it.
He made the term "regression to the mean" almost cool.
So, of course, that guy explains his perfectly timed, slump-busting, championship-snatching shooting performance in Thursday's Game 7 this way:
"The basketball gods," Battier said. "I believe in the basketball gods."
Take that, science.
