Any vibes to spare?

Post by Ima Facultiwyfe » May 29th, 2013, 8:11 pm

We could use some tomorrow. I'm taking the OP in for the first installment of back surgery. This will be to relieve L 3,4,5. We hope this gives him enough of a respite to get him through teaching one course and meeting a round of consulting obligations before he gives up the ghost and has the entire spine fused in September. His surgeon isn't guaranteeing anything.

I'm hoping to have a happier camper around the house. It's murderous this way.

If I'm not on the ball and in touch much, cut me a little slack. It's not 'cause I don't love ya.
Love, Ima

The post op news was not all good today. The surgeon had hoped to be able to do more. But the OP's spine is just "mush". The doc doesn't expect much relief from this procedure. So we'll be going back to the drawing board once the OP has absorbed the news and prognosis.

This very moment is the perfect teacher. And we're learning lots about what we're made of and what we're grateful for. And the the score on both counts is pretty high.

I'll bring him home tomorrow and we'll go back to the drawing board.

Love you guys,
Ima

IMA,
So sad to read about the update from the surgery. OP's spine is mush. That doesn't sound good at all. I know you are tired from the all day wait and see at the hospital. Continuted thoughts and prayers and vibes to you and the OP!!
