I will be visiting a buddy of mine next weekend at Wake Forest. I'm open to any suggestions from anyone who knows anything about the area. Restaurants, places to hang out, etc.

I'd put out an APB for our newest member, La Diva, on this one as I believe she lives in W-S. You might also find her on DBR as DitBD. ;)Ben63 wrote:I will be visiting a buddy of mine next weekend at Wake Forest. I'm open to any suggestions from anyone who knows anything about the area. I will certainly not miss that one. That looks glorious. Thanks Wilson.
I'm going to have to try this place next time I'm in WS. Love their prices, too!Ben63 wrote:I will certainly not miss that one. That looks glorious. Thanks Wilson.
Are you a seafood fan?OZZIE4DUKE wrote:I'm going to have to try this place next time I'm in WS. Love their prices, too!Ben63 wrote:I will certainly not miss that one. That looks glorious. Thanks Wilson.
The last time I had seafood in WS was December 3, 1979. It was the night before moving from WS to Smithfield. The movers were coming the next morning to pack up our house and move our stuff. That night, we went to Libby Hill for their all you can eat flounder, which we had had before. I know, not great seafood, but pretty tasty. I woke up at 3 a.m. and started heaving at 4 a.m. I had not digested any of the fish.captmojo wrote:Are you a seafood fan?OZZIE4DUKE wrote:I'm going to have to try this place next time I'm in WS. I never knew you were a devildeac, too!CathyCA wrote:I spent 3 years at Wake Forest and Winston-Salem when I was in law school. I found the campus culture to be extremely conservative (kind of like going back to high school), and the town had very little going on.
Good luck finding something fun to do.

I thought we talked about this a long time ago over yonder when I lived in CA.
You should move to New England...OZZIE4DUKE wrote:Anyway, I got over it after a few years and yeah, I like seafood - lobster, crab legs, shrimp, swordfish and occasionally something else. What do you have in mind?
Love the food there, but with your weather and the Red Sox, not going to happen!YmoBeThere wrote:You should move to New England...OZZIE4DUKE wrote:I like seafood - lobster, crab legs, shrimp, swordfish and occasionally something else. What do you have in mind?
