Judging from my NASCAR picks yesterday, the "T" word is certainly NOT TALLADEGA.windsor wrote:Lavabe has used the T word on facebook (T= TENURE)

Congratulations, Lavabe!

We should have another of our online chat room parties to celebrate - or, at the very least, a 10 p.m. toast.

We have two options over here. We can go for both tenure AND promotion (to associate), or we can just go for the tenure. Given my lack of articles, I decided to put off promotion a year or two, and I wound up applying and receiving tenure.
SO, no promotion, but the job security has been secured.

I'm not ignoring the newly endowed perfessor, I already congratulated him via text. This makes it public and "official." Next ones on me, Prof.

I am going to be "Czarina of the Universe" someday, but I am okay with Lavabe being my predecessor.

I like the fact that you have that option and that your university obviously recognizes the quality person that they have on-board.Lavabe wrote:Ah... that's the "P" word (promotion).ArkieDukie wrote:Congratulations, Associate Professor Lavabe!windsor wrote:Lavabe has used the T word on facebook (T= TENURE)

My career path might have been far different if the "tenure without promotion" option had been available to me. But, alas, it was not, so I've had the opportunity to dwell in the worlds of Supervisor Barbie, NuBarbie, The Minion, PushyPI, PHB, BarMinion, Road Runner, MacGyver, and Wile E. Coyote. What an interesting ride it has been!
