This painting is WAY up there on my list of personal favorites. It's not always about the details.

Yep. It takes one on a walk right around the right side of those trees and back up into the light and beyond into the deep woods. Good job. I sure do envy you your painting time. I just can't find enough of it to make much progress. You've really been cranking them out lately and I can see you getting better and better with each one. :-bd
Love, Ima

I saw you mentioned Muir. Did YOU paint this, and it was inspired by Muir?

Yes, it's my latest painting, finished at 3am last night. I'm ready to go back to bed now. I took tons of photos in Muir Wood for images while were there 2 weeks ago. Glad y'all like it.

I must have liked the scene, I took a couple photos of it, this one in black and white. If you notice, only a small portion of the scene was used for the painting (lower, center), so the trees in the paintings are actually pretty small in comparison to the big boys that surround them.

Or, even better, a Bigfoot... :))

(I wonder if he'll appreciate the dual meaning to that reference...)
