For a football injury page.

Per Bleacher Report, QB Thomas Sirk is out for the season after tearing his Achilles.

I can't link to this from my iPad and in court. I saw on Twitter that he was having surgery. X(

:wizard: for his return.

My understanding is he underwent surgery today and is expected to be out a complete year. This sucks. I really expected Sirk to challenge Boone for the starting position by midseason. Now we are one big hit away from the Connette package as our first option.

Totally sucks...BUT..at least it happens now. There is lots of time for the staff and team to fill his absence.

Parker Boehme is another dual threat guy who will be available when practice starts in August. He enrolled in January but has been held out of practice due to recovering from foot surgery.

Additionally, true freshmen Quay Chambers and Tyler Douglas played QB in high school so the staff has options. I'm not trying to downplay the significance of the Sirk injury because Sirk is a guy the staff is really, really high on. However, all is not lost. We still have multiple QBs on the roster who can play the game.

Deep Chart: Anthony Boone, Brandon Connette, Parker Boehme, Quay Chambers, Tyler Douglas

I wonder how this affects the Spring game. MacKenzie Savereign is next on the depth chart. I'm going guess the second team is going to be a Shaq P highlight tape. Perhaps a few Beilinson bombs.

Wait...I got it, we could let the Manning brothers split time on the second team...

Anyone know what happened with Corey Gattis? He played QB in highschool and did a lot of read option at Hillside (I think) with Desmond Scott...maybe they could suit him up for the Spring. Maybe he graduated, he was a redshirt junior last year, but I don't see him on the roster this year.

Though I'm excited the Spring game is televised, I'm kinda hoping we get the starters out of there fairly quick and let walk ons get as much time on the field as possible.

Corey was on the 2012 roster and did play a bit.... receiver I think. He's graduating in a few weeks. ;;)
