Yeah, it looked that bad close up too.

I was at the Duke - BC game last night. The Devils played like they'd been stranded in an airport due to a snowstorm. Lucky to win, but I'll take it! For some reason, however, I remained calm. Even when they got down by 5 with 2 minutes to go, I still thought they'd find a way. Because even though it was obvious that Duke was playing crappy, it was not so obvious that BC could play any better than they did.

Poor BC, there were some kids there, younger, probably around 12 who looked ready and eager to storm the court. I have no doubt that if the ball hadn't bounced our way in the end, there would have been yet another court storming. But it would have been a pathetic storming. Perhaps on TV it looked like a BC crowd and the 200 or so students who showed up were all dressed in bright yellow (and enthusiastically supporting their team). But higher up, Duke fans were not alone. Did the rather loud "Defense" cheer at the 2 minute mark come through to those watching at home? Ronnie and Tommy were gleefully cheering on our Devils along with about half the crowd.

Cool, I was wondering if you were there. Any snowball fights after the game?

I thought I heard a Defense chant when BC had the ball at one point. Glad to know my hearing isn't as bad as I thought it was.

I know folks from Dallas that were at the game to cheer Duke.

Are you sure the cheer wasn't something about someone's grandma? :9f:

Glad you made it to the game and back safely, BD!

I listened to the game tape linked by those idiots at The Bleacher Report today - they give you about a minute's worth of play. While most of the chants were pretty clearly "past your bedtime", I'd swear one time, in the middle, it did sound something like "grandma". But only once. I listened to it twice and heard the same thing both times. :9f:
