Well, I guess it's not Google, per se. But it's adventure in Silicon Valley, that's fer sher. You'll be great at this.

Congratulations, Native! You will have a good time out there.
What company in which town?
I have lots of recommendations for places to go and things to do in your free time in and around San Jose and San Francisco.

This is Duke Global in Silicon. It was Google that got him interested in going out there. What I wrote was sort of misleading but I couldn't resist using the little Google icon guy.

Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.

AD, your signature is very appropriate in this case. As I don't see Native as being very intellectual, but he sure is a character!

Thanks, y'all!
To clarify, it's a month-long course in entrepreneurship taught at Apple University at their headquarters. Even cooler, Clay Christensen — world-renowned Harvard economist and the father of former Duke b-baller Matt Christensen — is teaching the course. I've heard rumors that Matt will be out there with us, so that will be fun.
Hopefully I can network with Duke alumni in the valley and score an internship somewhere in California, where I'll likely try and stay for the remainder of the summer even though the program is only one month.
Thanks again for the congratulations!

Will you be staying in Cupertino?
Tim Cook, the COO of Apple is a Duke graduate, as you probably already know.
I know two Duke grads who are in high tech out there. (One is ExLax.) Let me know if you'd like an introduction.

We'll be staying in Mountain View.
And not only Tim Cook — 3 of the top 9 executives at Apple are Duke alumni. One, Eddy Cue — he's responsible for iTunes, the iBookstore, and the App Store, among other things — frequents basketball games. Both of his sons go to Duke and took a few courses with me. I'm such an Apple nerd so this is a big opportunity!

It's nice having an Apple geek in the family. Easy to take advantage. My New Year's resolution was that I will not ask him an Apple question for six months.
Love, Ima
PS My apologies for getting this thread off to such a confusing start just because I liked that little Google icon.

Ima, my stepdaughter's boyfriend is an Apple geek and answers customer service questions for a living. If you need an Apple question answered, shoot it my way and we'll keep your resolution going!

If you meet Matt Christensen, tell him "the monster's out of the cage!"
And in general, very cool indeed!
