Christmas in New York

Mom and I are going to New York on Saturday. We'll be there until the day before the Belk Bowl. What should we do? Where should we stay? What should we see?

We've been there plenty of times before, so we're not looking to do the obvious first-time touristy things. We're looking for something new and different.

Suggest away!

I never want to go to NYC again without brunch at Sarabeth's. There are several locations, the one below is my favorite, but there is one around the corner from the Plaza. If you haven't been there before, try it. You two would eat it up. (No pun intended.)
Love, Ima

PS Any chance of getting over to Jersey for a Dream Puff?

There is so much to see and do you can never go wrong. I've never stayed in a hotel there, always with family and friends. I would say take in at least one of the art museums..those are something that you REALLY can't find in too many other places.

Carnegie Deli.
Any hole in the wall pizza joint for a $5-6 lunch that is 2 slices of NY pizza and a drink.
Carnegie Deli.
Almost any museum.
Carnegie Deli.
Radio City Music Hall Christmas show.
Carnegie Deli.
TKTS booth for discounted tix for a Broadway/off-Broadway show.
Carnegie Deli.
Top of the Rock.
Carnegie Deli.
Top of the Empire State Building.
Carnegie Deli.
Boat ride to Statue of Liberty.
Carnegie Deli.
Walk through Central Park. Every day.
Carnegie Deli.

Hope that helps. Hope you're hungry. I hate you (jk) :-* .

Have a great time.

PS-got any shopping planned? ;)

I will keep Sarabeth's in mind. That's not going to be hard to remember since three of my favorite people are named Sarah Beth.

We're NOT going to New Jersey. I am *DONE* with New Jersey. ExLax hails from New Jersey, and I have no interest in ever going back there. So, we'll miss Dream Puffz.

Not yet but will be in a couple hours :D .
Tough to suggest where to stay. We stayed at Marriott properties (Marriott Visa card with 5X the points for Marriott hotels) the last several times we went but haven't been in about 3 years now. Soooo, expensive now. Ozzie or I would be available for pick up services on 12/26 if you needed help carrying a large Carnegie Deli sammich or two home from the airport ;) ;;) .

IF you bring us a doggie bag from Carnegi, bring it to Charlotte with you. I'm going to Charlotte mid day on the 26th. Cathy, are you flying from NY to Charlotte that day? I remember you saying you were flying there and not driving. B-)

I will not be in Charlotte 12/27 :(( . My new group set our Christmas/New Year schedule a couple months ago and I am off 12/21 to 12/26 inclusive and working 12/27 to 1/1, but no call/work New Year's eve or New Year's day. Joy and Claire will be there in club level with you and the gang and David John will be on the field working with the team. Not sure when the team travels but Joy and Claire will be driving down 12/27 AM.
