The French Equivalent of Big Brother

The French TV channel on the tv is playing this show called SECRET STORY. It seems like it's a French version of Big Brother, although I can't be sure, because I 've never watched Big Brother.

In Secret Story, you have 10-15 people stuck in a house, with 4 of them living apart from the others for long periods. From what I can tell, there are secrets from each one. And let me be really clear most of the women parade around in bikinis around a pool, except for the one who introduced herself to the audience by saying: I LOVE SEX!! There's also a "voice" that commands a few of the participants to do different things. And the folks give confessionals.

The big difference is that I don't see anyone being voted off or anything. Frankly, I can't figure it out.

Sure beats listening to news about Michael Jackson.

When all options have run out...well, you know they're all gone if you can't do better than this.

As far as I can tell, people don't get voted off on this show. Instead, the object is to find out each other's secret. If you do, you get money. If you guess incorrectly, I think you lose your life or get sent into exile.

Miss France 2007 (I think) came onto the show in disguise, but she couldn't handle the pressure, and eventually left on her own accord. Some of the people are just... bizarre. Didier dresses in drag, but is married to Elise. VERY strange dude. Francois-Xavier acts kind of strange, but I think is like a millionaire. And Cindy ... she just loves sex!!

Meanwhile, Angie, and all of her silicone (and all of her chihuahuas), has a thing for Romain. And Leo ... he's the most bizarre of the bunch.

Does this sound like Big Brother?

... thanks to the miracle of Wikipedia, a full explanation of this season's SECRET STORY, which is still going on:

Reality television must depart sooner, rather than later.
