Great Win for Duke!

Post by EarlJam » December 8th, 2012, 5:31 pm

That was outstanding. Though Loran and Windsor disagree, and were very critical of Duke's performance (I complimented Duke and was accused of "drinking the Kool-aid"), I must disagree. I think that was a huge win and impressive performance for this still-growing team.

Cook and Sulu, along with the big men and supporting cast can only improve and perhaps, fueled by the loss the Lehigh last year, take us deep into this year's tournament!

GO DUKE!

A solid win for a very good team. They looked good in person, and I'm sure many of Mason's in-close misses were fouls that were not called, right dd? ;) Quinn hit dagger 3's each time the lead got back down towards 10. A very solid performance by him. And Seth. And everybody! :happy-bouncyblue: :9f:

LOL. I couldn't believe it. We were up 20, away from Cameron against an undefeated team. And the criticisms were reigning down left and right. WTF? I can be critical against Duke like anyone else, and have been, but this team has been nothing but spectacular so far, exceeding all expectations. To praise them is not simply "drinking the Kool Aid" as I was accused of doing.

Ridiculous.

As long as Curry's leg holds out they're golden. This appears to be a complete team. And will be even more complete as the bench continues to improve. What a joy to watch. And they're such NICE guys, to boot!

If it bothered you so much you had to put an obnoxious post over here I suggest you do what I do...use the ignore feature. I do.

I still am in love with Mason's behind the back pass (to Ryan Kelly for a layup that he then gacked up).

Windsor,

As someone who has played the game, and has watched Duke for 30+ years, it simply blew my mind that you and Loran couldn't find much positive in an 20+ point victory away from Cameron Indoor Stadium against a team that was undefeated and beat us last year.

Mindboggling to say the least. Nothing personal.

There's NObody as pessimistic as the OP. His glass is always half empty. He can always find something somebody did wrong. Last night as I was coming into the room during the game, his first comment was "Well, we WERE up 18 but then they started doing boneheaded things and now it's down to just 15!" I always have to laugh. Imagine THAT, all the way down to 15!! :-o But, after the game even he agreed that they had done a great job!!!! I don't think I can remember a team he's had more praise for.

There's a lot of love on this team. I hope for their sakes they can get it ALL, but they don't owe me a thing!
