Section 21 - Duke vs. Stanford 9/8 @ 10pm. (Digital TV only)

Early heads up, we'll be crowded around our radios in Section 21 since unless you live within 2 square blocks of the Stanford campus you are out of luck for TV. Dammit.
Duke-Stanford live TV dubiousThe Pac-12 Networks holds exclusive rights to the Duke-Stanford game, which means it likely won’t be available in North Carolina.
The national version of the Pac-12 Network, available on Time Warner Cable but not on satellite services such as DirecTV or Dish Network, will be showing Wisconsin at Oregon State. The Duke-Stanford game is available on Pac-12 Network Bay Area, which is currently limited to California distribution.

And, unless you live within the Durham city limits, you can't pick up 620thebuzz after dark. So for most of us, no effing radio either. X( X( X( X( X(

I use some radio apps on my phone, like tunein. You can stream stations from across the country (and locally obviously), so try that as well, or one similar. I would assume iheart and spotify could work too. (Of course the game actually has to be streamed by the station, we got the Bulls instead of Duke while playing with it Saturday night in the parking lot.)

Isn't there even one CTN person in CA who could keep us posted via Section 21? Yikes - Duke is everywhere else, you'd think Duke would be in CA too! :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue:

PS CA: Am thinking we maybe shouldn't count on ExLax! :D

This link list all the radio stations that carry Duke:

http://www.goduke.com/ViewArticle.dbml? ... LID=187716

WTIB-FM (103.7) in Elizabeth City is closest to Norfolk. I guess I'll have to turn off my Beatles CDs long enough sometime this week to see if I can receive this station. I'll be in Section 21 even if I'm only following the game via ESPN GameTracker.

EDIT: Radio stream link: http://player.warpradio.com/WTIB-FM/player.asp?id=14715 I'll be trying this link to listen to the game.

According to Laura Keeley in the N&O, if you have Time Warner cable--and you have Sports Pass (which includes the PAC 12 Network)--you can get an online feed of the game.

I have DirecTV, so I'm out of luck. I'd go to our local sports bar, but they have DirecTV too. (And considering that the game is going to end around 1am, I might pass out on their bar without even having a beer.)

The sports bar itself doesn't have to have Time Warner, as long as someone who DOES have Time Warner gives them the sign-in info.

And if you wanted to add the sports pass just for this game, that's possible, too: all it takes is a call to Time Warner and $7.95 ($2 set-up fee and the $5.95 monthly rate). You can cancel the add-on at any time.
You can order the package on Saturday and cancel it on Sunday. So your cost will be the $2 set up fee (I didn't know this existed) and then the $5.95/15 (two days, Saturday and Sunday) = 40 cents. They pro-rate how long you have it on your bill, so for less than the cost of a beer at a bar, you can watch it on line! I think this is a plan!

A couple of years ago, when I found out that the YES network was in the sports package I ordered it to watch Yankee games! I watched the pregame show, and at game time they switched to some recorded programming instead of showing the game, since the Triangle is in the Baltimore/Washington market, and they couldn't show us the game. I found this out 10 minutes into the game when I called TWC to complain I wasn't getting the game, and they told me. When I stopped cussing, I cancelled the package and had it less than one day. I don't remember there being a set up fee back then.

Details, from the link:
But Time Warner Cable users who have the Pac-12 network still won't be able to flip on their TVs and watch the game. That's because the national Pac-12 network is showing Oklahoma State at Arizona in that time slot. The Duke vs. Stanford game is only actually available on TV in a regional Pac-12 network that is limited to the San Francisco Bay area. Duke sports information director Art Chase said the school asked the Pac-12 network to consider showing the Duke game in this market, but the network did not honor that request.

So, if you are a Time Warner Cable customer AND you receive the sports pass, you can watch online at pac-12.com. Just make sure you've registered your account with Time Warner Cable online so you have the proper log-in information (it's an easy process, provided you have a cable bill with you customer code handy).
