Vibes for Ruthie

Today Ruthie will be having surgery to correct a minor "plumbing" problem that lots of kids suffer from. OzzieDaughter did, and we chose to let her "out grow" it, treating it conservatively rather than surgically. Ruthie's condition is slightly worse, and her mom decided to get her's surgically repaired rather than wait it out. I guess that's the voice of experience saying "I'd rather have been done with it" so that's what they're doing. Ruthie's doctor/surgeon at Duke is the best, as we know the overall care will be. Surgery is scheduled for early afternoon, so turn on your vibrators (thank you Ima for that phrase!) and say a prayer for Ruthie today.

Her parents will be able to go see her shortly, but not yet. We'll get to see her about an hour later. 
The doctor said the surgery went well and has a 98% success rate. She'll be able to go home either tomorrow afternoon or on Thursday, depending on when she passes the typical post-surgical milestones.
