Vibes for the Capt's Mate

Post by OZZIE4DUKE » August 6th, 2012, 9:36 am

The Capt told me about this this morning, so I'm passing it on so y'all can get to vibing her well!
I had to take the Mate to the emergency room yesterday and they decided to keep her. She had a touch of pneumonia back in February and it appears some infection has returned. The doc on duty last night, said that she believed it to be something viral. It's got her oxygen saturation levels down (I've seen it as low as 76!) so they have her on oxygen and antibiotics right now. Release is a day-to-day decision. She has to get her white count down and her O sat level back up.
I'm just about to leave to head her way. Waiting to hear from Son of. Been too damned busy to check in much around these parts lately. Thanks for asking. All and any vibes from y'all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all! She is improving. Vibes from here are the greatest.
They're keeping her again tonight and I'm here alone, playing house. IV fluids are done, her voice is trying to come back and laughter is trying to bring up the mucous from her airways.
She has really been in and out since this past Febuary. Our next-door neighbor went away to an assisted-living home then. Unfortunately, he only lasted there for a month before passing at age 96. His heirs decided to sell off his furnishings and rent his home. The new tenant came in and cleaned the house with CLORINE. :-o Hey, it wasn't that bad. The mate went over to visit and inhaled these terrible fumes. It has since had a very profound effect on her breathing.
She was well enough to shoot these shots, the weekend before last...

I can empathize with that. Before the kids moved in here I cleaned their rooms like I hadn't in 20 years, using a chlorine bleach spray along the baseboards. I've had a throat irritation ever since from breathing the fumes, with a nagging cough on and off, and that was in early June. Hope the mate is feeling better. }}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

I don't believe it was your 'everyday' ordinary Clorox. It seemed much stronger than that. I took a slight whiff of it but she was inside over there for a long time.

Well, I've been out of the loop so long (malware probs) that now that I'v e been able to get back in touch, it seems that gobs of things have happened while I was out of commission. Sooooo sorry to hear of the Mate having these worrysome things happen. I bet somebody got the bleach fumes mixed up with some ammonia fumes. That's the bug-a-boo that can do you in. Very important to keep them separate.

She'll get better with lots of TLC from her adoring captain!

Hugs to you both.
Love, Ima

Hoping to hear results from the lab after testing a mucous culture from her chest. We gotta know the trigger that's firing off her airway and oxygen restriction. :wizard:
