Yet another question for the computer wizards

Post by ArkieDukie » June 17th, 2012, 3:19 pm

I'm trying to install some work-related software on my personal laptop and have met a roadblock. One of the necessary .exe files is locked. I'm not sure why, and I'm not sure how to fix it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

My guess is that it's something related to security settings/antivirus software/firewall. I'm running Norton on my computer.

You are not authorized to access that program. Contact your administrator! :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue: :D

Reboot. ;)

Then make sure you have administrator privileges, turn off any antivirus software, and try again? Good luck!

If you have it loaded go to start, all programs and find it like you were going to laucnh it....but RIGHT click and see if you get a "run as administrator" option.

(this assumes you're running Windows )

Nope - I get Open, Properties, and Open all users.
