Hey, for anybody that knows what they're doing in the IT world... when I log onto my router, it lists all my usual devices, then says "new-host", "new-host 2", and "new-host 3", saying that the connection type is "bridge" for each. Any idea what these could be? I've tried to think, and I can't figure out any device in my house that it could be. Now, I AM using a range extender, but it's listed on there. Would my wireless devices that use the bridge be listed as these new hosts? They are listed separately by their own names, so I wasn't sure.

Also, my extender makes me run through its setup wizard a couple times a day, re-entering my WPA key passphrase, a real PITA to look up so often. What's up with that?

Finally, my router, in my basement, has 45% signal in my kitchen, right above it. There's some other source listed at 100%. How the heck am I getting 100% signal from someone that's not in my home, and only 45% from my own router? Is there some way to up my router's signal?

I'm not sure, but I bet CB&B will have a few ideas. I've never used an extender before.

Do you have smartphones or iPads that are attached to your wireless network? I actually went through the exercise of naming all the devices attached to my wireless network so I'd know what they are. I had to look in "Settings" on each so I'd know what the address was.

I really don't know, not without seeing it. AD may be right in asking about phones. The extender would make sense in showing up as a bridge, but I don't know why you would see 2 others. What kind of router is it? I'd google "new host", I bet you find the answer there or on the manufacturer's site.

Your range extender should be a bridged connection, and it's possible the new hosts are results of your multiple setups each day. If you really wanted to get to the bottom of it, disconnect the range extender and reboot the router, may even reset the router.
