Dateline: Christmas Eve. When all through the house many things were stirring, including two dogs and four humans! lol
We had settled in the living room after a late dinner (around 10 pm) and had decided to do Christmas presents now rather than tomorrow as part of the family would not show up due to illness.
It was myself and Tilly and her parents (and Vesper and Winston, our loyal poochies).
After the parents did their presents thing, it was Tilly's time.
I timed out my stuff for the last, as I was anxious enough from the last few months since getting the ring, postponing my original plan to pop the question on Turkeyday, and having a last minute cancelation from our cat sitter for our Christmas weekend, and almost derailing me going to Maryland with Tilly and screwing everything up!
So now it was my turn. Everyone else was done, so I presented Tilly with a Christmas bag of three presents. She had no clue as to the fourther and biggest present to come.
She looked at her bedroom slippers and liked them enough. She also liked the book and the DVD on Hawaii (we all know she is a Hawaiin nut!).
And then....
I presented her with my laptop.
On the laptop screen I had a poem for her to read. It is as follows.....
"What a wonderful life it would be
If for a moment it was shared with you
Lifetime of moments together, just you and me
Loving, caring, and so deserving too
Yet when away from you, my heart aches
Our times together, I value so much
Under your spell, apart from you my heart breaks"
Making my world a better place, you know you do
And I trust, I make yours better too
Reaching a destination together, with God's grace
Realizing life together, sharing the view
You and I, hand in hand, in a lifelong embrace
Me and you, a lifetime to share
Every lifetime with you seems like a single moment I swear"
She liked the poem, thought it was awesome. Asnd then I told her to read it again.... carefully as there was a hidden message in it.
Can you find the hidden message? Note the first letter of each sentence!
lol
She said she didn't see it. I came closer to her, bending down on my knee as she looked at the laptop, and I looked at the screen with her before pulling the ring box out and saying "maybe this will help..... Will you marry me?"
She said yes, she cried, the parents were happy and despite all the drama and delays and craziness in the last weeks and such, this moment was flawless! Perfect, I could not have asked it to be more perfect! And the fact she said YES, that sealed the deal right there! lol
Hugs to all who helped me along the way with your advice, your confidence and your friendship! I cannot express to you what it meant and how it help lead to k68 and Tilly being engaged on Christmas Eve 2011!!
I love it when a plan comes together! Well done, Marvin!knights68 wrote:So here is my side of things, Tilly may chime in with hers perhaps ;)DevilAlumna wrote:Congrats,
