Wake @ Duke: Wedding day Brunchgate @ 12:30

Game time has been posted (finally!) as 12:30 next Saturday, so Brunchgate makes its return. The TBCC will be planning a breakfast menu for our dining pleasure. The Devil Walk will be ~10:00 a.m., so plan on getting up early and getting to Duke early to maximize your enjoyment! I'm also sure that a post game victory celebration in the late afternoon will be taking place, so plan to stick around and miss the outgoing traffic. I will miss that traffic for another reason, having departed the game after the first quarter, ~2:15. See DD's reason below, as the same applies to Mrs. Ozzie...
DD's eldest daughter, the kerlina grad with no regard for Duke football schedules, will be saying her nuptials in Raleigh this day @ 5 p.m., so an appearance by DD is, shall we say, doubtful (He'd like to keep all his body parts... ;) Mrs. DD is a very skilled Duke trained RN and enjoyed her rotation through the surgical suite back in the day
. )
It's been a while since we've beaten Wake Tech. Time to change that. This is the week!

I haven't made a firm decision but am thinking I will be joining Bud and be leaving for the mountains of Va. Thursday and not retuning to Efland until Sun. or Monday. The church Bud was raised in is doing the annual apple butter making. It's their big fundraiser and lots of fun. If Max, Dawn and Mark don't use my tickets, I'll leave them here so CB&B can take them to tailgate. Maybe someone else will need. If not, maybe some can be sold to help the tailgate fund.

I have it on good authority that body parts are going to be spared and DD will be making an appearance at the Wedding day Brunchgate on Saturday!

We must assume DD has an identical twin! Otherwise he'll never pull this off!
Reminds me of a joke. (I'm too lazy to go to the other thread.)
Drunk is staggering down a country road.
Two nuns approach from the opposite direction.
When they meet, the nuns part and he walks between them, turns around to watch them continue on down the road from whence he came. Takes off his hat, scratches his head and says out loud to himself, "How'd she DO that?"
Love, Ima

No guarantees. Just discussions so far.

Is it a trade deal? Something like 3 hrs at Brunchgate/football game for appendage(s) to be named at a later date? If that's the case, I can see where the whole deal could fall through. Hope the agents for both sides are willing to work overtime on the negotiations; this one will likely go down to the wire.
;)

I think ILJ would not take kindly to such a move on my part as well, but I will have to check with the boss and verify.
IIRC, some 20+ years ago, I almost made it to a Durham Bulls' game several hours before our wedding. ILJ would NOT have been pleased had I attended the game and come back just an hour or so before the wedding.

Here's my proposed schedule: Brunchgate (look at that menu will ya?) from 9-noon and then head to Jason's for pizza from 1230-2ish and then wedding festivities. I'll drag my brother along (he's always looking for a free meal
) as you are both invited to Jason's for lunch that day. Both my nieces can bond (his daughter is 14) if LL is not up at the crack of dawn for breakfast, make-up, lunch, more make-up, hair styling, more food and make-up and then off to the wedding.
(
ya shoulda gone to at least 5 innings of the Bulls game )
Shoot, you were only a couple miles from Duke Chapel. Derm ain't
that big of a town.

Cheerdaughter's roommate of 4 years, Becca Ward, is being honored at halftime for winning the NCAA Sabre Fencing Championship this year. Her parents are coming to the game and I invited them to come to tailgate if they arrive in time.
I will make an egg and cheese strata, bring some fruit, and throw in some money if Becca's parents come.
Wow! More celebrities at our Brunchgate! How cool is that? Becca also won a gold medal at the World Championships and a bronze medal at the Olympics.

Yes, very cool indeed!
And I love Cheermom's egg and cheese strata, too!

Me too! I was pondering making strata but I was hoping she'd volunteer. I can keep it heated on my large grill. (And yay for Becca Ward's appearance if her and her parents make it.

Bronze medal winning fencer and bronze medal winning barbeque team... will remind ILJ that Brunchgate will be an award-winning experience.

Let me know what you/we will be bringing
. I'm thinking cream cheese (not homemade) or a dozen eggs. Perhaps some OJ. No beer.

WOO-HOO!
Now, what to bring...
And beer is
not on my menu that AM, especially if I get about 2 hours of sleep as I did before the CLD/dukediv wedding in June.

No one can resist my chocolate bourbon balls (well, actually, they're bourbon balls from Woodford Select).
