Duke Vs. Boston College
Time to move on and start winning. BC is actually a very good school to do this against since they are down as well. This is the first ACC game for us...so in that regard our record is 0-0.

Re: Duke Vs. Boston College
I just want to make 2 points about the Stanford game...
The offense continued to compete. They got beat on the line, but we had some good plays. Our O-line was supposed to be much better this year, but it seems to me that it's taken a step back. We can't seem to handle the blitz at all. Sometimes, Renfree is holding onto the ball too long, but you need some time to get people open for a deep pass...The O-line is the most frustrating thing I've seen this year. Okay, maybe second most.....
Odds are we have to hit a field goal soon....right...
I liked the defense in the first half, but...did they give up in the second half or did Stanford make adjustments....umm...where were our adjustments?
Biggest question is...how does this translate to BC. They haven't lit the fire yet either. This game could come down to whose wants it more. We have the talent to have beaten Stanford...if you're in the second half up 19-17, you have the talent to beat the team you're playing. Had we hit make able field goals we're up...how many people think our things would've played out differently if we'd hit those field goals before Lucks drive at the end of half.
Very frustrating season so far.

The prevailing sentiment of people with an IQ greater than a 2 year old is summed up right here....Bob Green wrote:Words of Wisdom from Jim Young:

One problem – and I’m assuming there are several more – for Renfree may be Duke’s habit of pulling him from the game as soon as the Blue Devils get inside the 20. I understand that putting in Brandon Connette gives Duke a better run threat, but unless Duke actually lets Connette throw it once in a while – the Blue Devils have run it on their first down inside the 20 every time this season save their drive just before the half against Richmond – that offensive wrinkle loses its edge.
Right now teams know that Duke will run when Connette comes into the game. And they know that if they stop the Blue Devils on the first two downs, that Sean Renfree will come back in if it’s a passing situation and … wait for it … pass.

Re: Duke Vs. Boston College
I kinda liked the idea of Brandon Connette coming in to give defenses a different thing to worry about and he had a great pass play to Conner Vernon against Stanford, but I would agree that they have become very predictable inside the 30.
I think the quarterback who starts a drive, should finish it unless it's 2nd or 3rd and goal at the 1.
I think it's counter productive to pull Sean on a long drive...if you don't get used to throwing in the end zone, you'll have trouble doing it under pressure. Just like the kicking game it becomes mental and it's going to be even harder.
Does anyone know whether Montel Harris is coming back for this game. I seem to remember that was the plan.

While I hope Connette CAN play, I don't want to see him play. A complete Renfree game is something I really want to see, and very soon.DevilWearsPrada2.0 wrote:I hope Connette and Desmond Scott are not on the injury list.

Any word on Montel Harris?
Even if Connette and Desmond Scott could go, I'd hope they just rested up and be ready for the rest of the ACC season push.
I only want to see Anthony Boone when Duke is up 3 touch downs in the 4th quarter.

Now, if we were playing the 'holes and they had a "doubtful" we'd see him carry the ball 30+ times and pound us for 150 yards and 3 TDs.Bob Green wrote:Per a post by airowe at DBR, Montel Harris is doubtful for Saturday, which is good news for us!The Football Fan wrote:Any word on Montel Harris?

No shit. I'll believe it when he is still sitting on the bench as the clock ticks off.devildeac wrote:Now, if we were playing the 'holes and they had a "doubtful" we'd see him carry the ball 30+ times and pound us for 150 yards and 3 TDs.Bob Green wrote:Per a post by airowe at DBR, Montel Harris is doubtful for Saturday, which is good news for us!The Football Fan wrote:Any word on Montel Harris?

What time will everyone be showing up at Section 21 tomorrow? I'll check-in around 0900 Pacific time to chat prior to the 0930 kick-off.

I am still trying to figure out if I am going to be able to watch the game because I am assuming the local ACC station in the DC area will be carrying the Maryland vs WVA game which is at the same time.

I would assume the ACC Network would be carrying the game between 2 ACC teams.Cheermom wrote:I am still trying to figure out if I am going to be able to watch the game because I am assuming the local ACC station in the DC area will be carrying the Maryland vs WVA game which is at the same time.
