A bit early to start the thread, but it is Homecoming so lots of folks will be coming from afar for this game!

Lavabe gave me one suggestion in the Beer thread. Need to head to Schnuck's today to see if I can score a sixer to bring. Will need to get 2 - I got the impression that I will need to drop off on in the vicinity of Lexington, KY.
His suggestion was a Raspberry Coffee Stout from Schlafly's - a specialty brew that's only available at the Tap Room and Schnuck's. Am open to other suggestions.

Okay, make that one 1 pt bottle. I didn't realize the size of the bottle when i said I'd bring a sixer. The Schnuck's I went to had received 3 cases of the 1 pt bottles and had sold all but 3 or 4. I bought 2 (one is for Lavabe).

Posting this here so y'all can start drooling and discussing. (We've already put it in the official M&A thread.) Main course this week, since we got lucky with another late game, will be two whole 13lb turkeys, brined and smoked, and one 12lb beef rib roast dry aged for what little time we have left and smoked over maple. Damn I'm hungry.

Happy Anniversary on Saturday! And many more!

WO, sounds good. Do you need another grill? You could get one of ours.

Take a very small radio so you can check the game when you have to go to the john.
You can make several trips.

Obviously copied from the attendance and menu thread, but since this is a social comment and not an attendance or menu comment, I'm putting it here (oh, gosh, this is such an OY type of thing to do...
)
Glad you're coworker is attending another game with you! Does this mean that Duke will be opening a French branch in the near future (like the one in China)? Perhaps the next basketball team foreign trip (in four years) will be a European tour!

Dear allen,
Happy Anniversary! And many more. If you would please send us your cell phone #, we will be happy to send you the play-by-play description of the game. Repeatedly. If you would send us your bride's cell #, we can keep her informed, too. While you are at it, please send us your MC/Visa # too. We'd like to feed both your boys while they visit us and buy a few extras. Have a great day!
Love,
Your CTN friends
P.S. We will miss you and look forward to seeing you next home game. A detailed description of your anniversary celebration will not be required
.

In case I didn't mention it before, I have extra motivation to want Duke to win big on Saturday: PHB is a Tulane alum.

They are more than welcome to bring food if they wish (as long as it not store bought), but it is of course not a requirement.
What do you mean, you can't bring store bought food? Are we now supposed to go out and grow a garden or build a hen house and raise our own chickens? Where else are we supposed to get our food if not from the store?

I didn't say you can't bring store bought food, but we discourage it. Besides adding to the excess plastic we clean up at the end of the day, it's more fun to have a menu that is full of homemade dishes. To quote what TNT has already said so well...
Please, please, please- do not stop by Bojangles or the Supermarket Deli because you feel obligated to bring something (unless it’s an item that you plan to totally consume ! (No offense intended towards Boj or Delis, hell we like Boj, just not at our tailgates.) This does not apply to: a)true Brunch-gates (KOs prior to 3:30p) where bagels, etc are cool or, b)"Specialty Items" (i.e renowned cakes/pies/entrees from local eateries) or, veggie trays.

When I go to get ingredients for a meal, I usually shop at a store. Occasionally, I have served fruit from my trees (when I lived in California), or served vegetables from a garden, or fish I caught in the ocean or clams I dug at the beach. As a rule, however, almost all of my food is store bought.

Sorry we had to miss Blue Devil Alley today. At crunch time Native "SOS-ed" that he was already completely out of Duke Blue body paint and the local supply was dried up. So we had to make a frantic search, purchase and delivery. (A Duke grandmother's gotta do what a Duke grandmother's gotta do.) Alas, lunch turned out to be a chili burger from Andy's in the stadium.
In case you ever need to know, the Party Store out on Duke Street still has it when everybody else is sold out!
Love, Ima
