Duke Vs. Richmond

Wooohooo, gametime is soooo close. Will the Spiders come in reeling and unorganized under a new coach, or determined to once again walk out Wallace Wade with a victory? This is obviously a must win game, not only for bowl chances, but also to finally excise a ghost that is haunting our past.

We need a decisive victory to make a statement about Duke football in 2011. Richmond needs to leave Wallace Wade knowing they just got their butt kicked by a superior team. Duke is an 8.5 point favorite:

Cool stuff from the Raleigh News and Observer:

The Killer Vs.

Now where have I heard that before...

And from the old geezer and long time Duke hater:

Can't argue with much there. Pretty honest stuff.

Expect the unexpected...and Connette.
Blue Devils coach David Cutcliffe hinted that Richmond, Duke’s opponent in Saturday’s opener, could receive a heavier dose of Connette than last season’s Blue Devils’ foes.

Exactly how he’ll be used, however, remains a mystery.

The weather was great. Good attendance. Fireworks at halftime. Everyone wore Duke Blue. Feel bummed out for Coach Cut and staff, the football team, Cheerleaders, Students, Parents and Fans who supported the team, and stayed until the end. I am watching an ACC football program on Wral. They are breaking down each of the teams.

Fortunately, it was not on TV last night while I was with my family in Paducah.

Is there an Injury Update after the Richmond game? #33 Desmond Scott was on crutches during the 4th quarter. Already down, with Josh Snead on the (Did not play) list.

My 41-7 prediction looks pretty silly now. Oh well, I was pretty depressed light night, but the sun did rise this morning. Next week is next week so we have to move on.

Are you coming to a Football game this season?

Maybe you transposed the numbers for the predictions and meant 14 -7...

Was that one or two giant step/s backward?

As a certain football manager texted me last PM several minutes after the game: "Goodbye Bowl."

There were very few positives to come out of that performance.

I was very dissapointed with Saturday nights results against Richmond! We lost fair and square, but I am not ready to give up on this team just yet! People there are 11 games left in 2011, does that mean were gonna bounce back somehow and beat Stanford? Probably not, but we can compete and we can get better! I went on to the Duke Chronicle about ten minutes ago to read a post from some guy named Marcus who probably doesn't go to games and doesn't even know anything about the program. His comments were for Duke to drop Football because its just down right embarrassing when you can't beat FCS schools! On the Raleigh News and Observer the same sentiment from jerks who want to put our program down and I am sick of it! One game doesn't define are season this loss was a tough heart-breaking loss, but we can bounce back from this and improve and have a decent season! We have to move on to the next week and prepare for Stanford, Richmond is in the past now and being positive from here on out on a good season when there can be one is important because its still early and alot can still happen! :duke:
