Well, the long drought is over! We have FOOTBALL! Most of you know the drill but, for those "noobs" joining us, let me 'splain.

This thread is where you can inform others of your intentions to attend and with how many guests. You can also post here if you would like to contribute a dish (or dishes) to the gastronomic orgy which is the TBCC tailgate. Let's get busy.

New segment!

• For this tailgate we’re gonna’ try to serve the main courses around 5pm.

• There will be other food(s) available prior to “showtime”. There will be munchies available from about Noon forward.

• If you are bringing food that needs "grill time" (i.e. to be (re)heated), make that information known in your post.

We'll have food available

Wings (with celery & carrots, ranch & BC dressings);
Roasted Onion & bacon dip (w/chips);
Smoked beef Brisket (with a couple of BBQ sauces);
Smoked chicken Pot Pie (prepared in my 16 qt. Camp Dutch Oven. This has the potential to be a tremendous fiasco.);
Baked beans (strike that last) I'll do a potato salad instead;
Cole Slaw;
Brownies (and probably something else, just have yet to decide);
Beers, iced tea, beers, water, beers. Oh, and beers. I'll probably have some Spicy BM fixin's too.

9 guests, my friend Sylvie will bring her African rice that she brought last year. They'll also bring beverages. I'll ask her to bring non-alcoholic beverages to share.

Two lawgrads will be in attendance.

Not sure on the menu thing yet, since we get to spend much of the day at various church things. I might just give Ozzie some green encouragement and be done with it.

Finally, time for some Football. Time for some Duke Football!!! And we know that means time for the True Blue Cue Crew to get back into action. We need all members who plan to attend to bring their most best Duke attitude possible. We need you there early and enthusiastic. Duke Football needs the same passion Duke Basketball gets.

Duke Football will rock Wallace Wade on Saturday and the True Blue Cue Crew will get it started on Blue Devil Alley!!!

I will be on the Alley, around noon. Cowboy Devil and maybe a couple of guests. Not sure if the girls will make it but I will contribute:

Grill, utensils, charcoal, etc.

Also, potatoes, corn on the cob???, other snacks

Sodas, and water.

Beer.

I'll be there around one, and Tom plans on coming, so that's two.

I had planned on bringing home-baked burger buns, but I see that TNT has that covered, so I'll save that for another time. Now I'm thinking cookies or a dessert. And beer. I've got some Anchor Bock and Anchor Summer Beer that I've been saving all summer!

allen and wolfpackdevil (plus 2 more) will be there. WPDevil will bring home made chocolate chip cookies. allen will bring some lime and cilantro shrimp (cold). we park in the next county and have to walk a long ways to get here, so we'll probably forgo hauling beverages and just drink everybody else's (but we'll chip in some $$ for what we drink).

Really looking forward to seeing everybody.

I am not sure of our final number yet - definitely cheermom and dad, and possibly 3 guests. We have been traveling for the last week so our contribution will be determined by what we are able to buy that day. Will probably pick up a veggie platter and some fruit. If we don't find anything else more substantial to bring, maybe some sausages and rolls, we will chip in money to cover our guests.

One other cheerleader's parents are coming to the game and I have invited them to tailgate, but have not heard back yet. We are good for food and/or money to cover the extra people if they come.
