CTN Marital Status Poll

At Bjornolf's suggestion...

I suppose you all know how I voted. ;)

FWIW, ExLax and I were married 20 years, 8 months and 12 days.

Spouse 2.0 is a substantial upgrade from Oedipus, I mean Spouse 1.0.

Where is the option for single, always thought I'd get married, but it might be time to seriously consider the convent route. I wonder if "Our Lady of the Highways" along the Jersey turnpike is still taking applications?

I'd probably take that option as well, DinK.

I''d forgotten our lady of the highways - always cracked me up as a kid...you can vote for more than one in the poll...if you average 'single want to get married' and single no desire to get married' that probably gets you there :D :D

I only say Our Lady of the Highways once - I was kidnapped and taken to NYC for Thanksgiving one year. I have remembered it ever since and kept it in mind for a possible career as a nun.

It isn't that I have no desire to get married. It's just that no real opportunity presented itself. I guess that isn't really true as I do have one marriage proposal on the books. It was so romantic that I tear up every time I think of it. On the mission trip in St. Paul, I was working the steam table at a soup kitchen when I was approached by one of the gentlemen/males/guys/eaters (?) who proclaimed that he loved large women and asked if I would marry him. I regretfully refused his proposal as I didn't think it would work because I lived in a different state. Fortunately, he didn't offer to move. It is really hard to top the romantic atmosphere around the proposal. I hope that I don't regret my hasty answer but I determined many years ago that it is better to be single and happy than married and miserable.
