For years, I feel I have been called to Seattle, but have never gone there. Has anyone else been? Is it nice?

I went to the Final Four in Seattle in 1989.

I filmed a commercial in Seattle in the mid 2000s.

I like Seattle.

DA lives there. I'm going there in a couple weeks.

Steve Largent used to play in Seattle.

My inlaws live in Seattle (Tacoma, actually). I like Seattle. It's a lot cooler there right now than it is on the East Coast.

I've lived here for 8(!) years now, it's finally starting to feel like home. I know this, because sunny days generally stress me out now. Grey days after a stretch of sun feel like getting home after a vacation -- you enjoyed it, but it's not ... normal.

It's very green, lots of trees & mountains. Beautiful, really, especially on the days where you drive over one of the bridges and can see South to Mt. Rainier, North to Mt. Baker, East to the Cascades AND West to the Olympics.

My husband and I both have family there. Having visite, my sense is that it's a cooler place to live than to visit. My favorite parts are being with family and being out of the city--Mt Rainier, Bainbridge Island, Olympic peninsula. But if you've never been, it's well worth a trip.

If you drive south a few hours, you can pass by Mt. St. Helens (REALLY awesome), and even stop by Vancouver, Washington, home of NASCAR driver Greg Biffle. Just over the border from Vancouver, Washington is Portland, Oregon, home to MANY good brews.

Mt. St. Helens is extremely neat. That and Mt. Rainier are well worth the viewing. Except for the fact that I wouldn't be close to Duke and my Mom is in eastern VA, I would have no problem with moving to the Seattle area.

If you like cars, the car museum in Spanaway (I can't remember the name of the place) is amazing. We spent hours there on a tour. The guy who owns the cars was voted "Least Likely to Succeed" by his high school classmates, got into the garbage business, and made an absolute pile of money. There's a Tucker in his museum, a Dusenberg, and some really neat other vehicles.
