Peter Falk died. Bummer, he was great, and in lots more than just as Detective Columbo. He was perfect as the grandfather in "Princess Bride", and had a way funny cameo in the Muppet Movie.

Falk's Columbo was one of the best acting roles in TV history.

Aw. I'm sad. He was the OP's favorite detective of all time. Columbo helped him justify wearing his own old crumpled raincoat all over the world. Taught me that important lesson that the most important things said in life are very often those words spoken just as someone is leaving you.

There are sure to be some re-runs now. I'm looking forward to them. So long you sweet, exasperating character.
