IN!

Wow, the time has flown by! I remember Rolvix doing something like this last year, so I figured I'd stop by and give you guys an update on what's been happening! It's been pretty hectic, to say the least.

I just got my housing assignment yesterday. I'm in Belltower, which is the newest dorm on East. Bad news first: it's kind of removed from the main quad. But that's it. It's one of three dorms with air conditioning (Hallelujah!) and is in the "Backyard" along with Blackwell, Randolph, Gilbert-Addoms, and Southgate. The rooms are also the largest of the three air-conditioned dorms.

My roommate's a really cool guy. We met on the Duke 2015 Facebook page where everyone posts roommate surveys. He's from Maryland and is a chemistry major going pre-med.

As of now, I'm pursuing a degree in Computer Science with a certificate in Arts of the Moving Image (Fancy Dukespeak for Film). I've been working all summer at ABB, an energy company with a headquarters on NC State's Centennial Campus. There's a lot of CompSci applications in their new Smart Grid project that I'm an intern on. So, that's pretty cool. I'm considering transferring into Pratt for a computer engineering double major, but I'm hoping to talk with my academic advisor and some professors before I take that leap.

I just can't wait until move-in day.

Very cool! Pratt rocks! Go for it. You can handle it. CIEMAS is an incredible facility, make the most of it!

Interesting, they didn't have a computer engineering program when I was at Pratt. Of course, it wasn't called Pratt when I went there either. Just sayin'.

Me neither, nor the CIEMAS buildings (named Fitzsomething and something...). Heck, they were just building the "new" library back then.

Let me know if you would like to talk to a current Pratt student (my daughter) or a former Pratt computer engineering, computer science dual major student (my son).

Sounds good. Maybe you will have our next door neighbor, Gary Ybarra, who teaches computer science at Pratt. He's a great guy. :duke: :duke: :duke:

OK, so I've learned to Skype. That's nice, but I still don't know how to post a link here. So, I'll just tell ya to go to today's Chronicle for the article on the class of 2015. Native's pic and interview made the front page. :-o The link is also on my facebook.
