I have seen Van Halen with David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar. I liked them both. But, DLR will always be the Front Man of Van Halen, to me.

The stuff they did in their Van Hagar phase was alright but it certainly wasn't Van Halen without Roth.

TOTALLY agreed here Colchar and DevilWearsPrada. Colchar, don't really know the words to describe it, but it seems DLR Van Halen was more "Rock" and heavy sounding. Van Hagar was more squealy, trebley and poppy??

YOU are spot on EarlJam! I like DLR better!!! He was Sexy Skinny or Skinny Sexy and I loved the long hair. Hagar was more raspy like Rod Stewart or Kim Carnes. David Lee Roth would do his jumps in the air in a perfect split. I think He broke his leg one time, when he landed from a jump. Reminds me of the song, JUMP. Go ahead and JUMP!!! Love DLR and Van Halen of those yesteryears!!! DLR aka Skinny Sexy.
