I just helped a couple with their NOOK color e-reader set up. Not just any couple though. EarlJam, meet Frank and Peggy. I went to help them with NOOK, and ended up talking with them for 30 minutes or so and having my photo made with them. Frank is in his 90s, sharp as a tack, and served in both the Western and Eastern fronts during WWII. He was here today in the store with his wife Peggy (also sharp as a tack). They've been married for 67 years! They took their vows while WWII was still going on in 1944! Wow!

If you are a fan of WWII history OR Aviation history, here is a link to his Website: http://www.daileyint.com

Frank said new "standards" by Google have brought down the traffic to his sight, so please, if interested at all, feel free to visit his site and pass word along about his three books (they really seem good and I plan to read them.........at least one of them). I know they will appreciate it!

Yes, I'm geeking. Sorry. Putting it bluntly, these days it's a treasure to meet and talk to a living, spry vetern of WWII. They are dying off quickly. And to meet a couple still married since 1944? Well, dayyyymn. Amazing. They made my day, so I'm posting about it. Why not?

Newlyweds!
Frank told me he met Peggy in Norfolk VA in 1943 when he was playing cards with the fellas. She caught his eye, he caught hers and they've been together ever since! He's fun to talk to and very, very, sharp! I think I'm going to have them in the bookstore July 16 for a Local Author Day book signing. You can visit Frank's WWII history and Aviation Web site here: http://www.daileyint.com. His books can be ordered from the site or through Barnes & Noble as well!
