Microsoft Word 2007 Help Needed

For whatever reason, Microsoft decided it would be a good idea to make the default line spacing in Word 2007 greater than single spacing. I know how to turn this off and have done so on my desktop but, for whatever reason, the setting will not stay on my laptop. In other words, when I stop it from adding the extra space and then set that as the default for all future documents, it doesn't hold that and reverts as soon as I open a new document.

Does anyone know how to permanently resolve this, other than the method described above? There used to be a download from Microsoft that did this for you but I cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can get that?

Nope, completely slipped my mind. Thanks, I'll try that shortly.
