Men's Clothing

On more than one occassion, I have had people tell me I have too many clothes. A more accurate statement would be that I have too many outdated clothes. But it has me thinking, "How much clothing is 'too much' for a man?" I'm talking the average Joe here, not Donald Trump.

Here is an approximate run down of what I have in my closet:

1. 17 Dress shirts (button down)
2. 10 pairs of dress pants
3. 3 pair of jeans
4. 8 pairs of shoes
5. 2 plates of old, dried food
6. 6 sweatshirts
7. 15 pairs of underwear (10 sans holes)
8. 12 pairs of socks (15 individual socks with no matching partner)
9. A Gatorade bottle on the top shelf filled with some unknown liquid
10. 8 belts
11. 3 stacks of books
12. 17 empty Hydrocodone prescription bottles (need to get rid of those)
13. 5 pair of sweatpants

Okay, for the clothing items, that's honestly about what I have. Really, is that too much? Men, how do you compare? Inquiring Jam wants to know!

If they were all black socks, you could match them up by how "black" they still were vs. how much (or little) they had faded to gray through washing and have 7 more pair of socks!

Nice to have you back on the board. B-) Where you been my friend? It's been almost quiet around here. Well, not really.

Jeez, and I went to such lengths in the Chili's post to call the little girl Caucasian and not "white". :( :-o

I don't think you have enough clothes. You certainly don't have enough pairs of shoes.

You don't have any ties? No jackets? No polo shirts? No khaki pants?

Ah, good points. Remember, these numbers are approximate:

Ties - about 22
Polo Shirts - About 10
Jackets - 1 Winter trench coat, 1 Polo leather jacket and 4 other coats/jackets in varying styles.
Sportcoats/blazers - 5
Khaki Pants - 5 or so?

Well Jeez dude, if you don't give us a full list, how are we supposed to evaluate? Heck, don't forget to include the Victoria's Secret thong underwear and the stiletto pumps and the fishnets while you're at it. :D

EarlJam, if you have too many clothes, then I have waaaaay too many. One of my vices, I suppose, although I pretty much don't own anything for which I paid full price.

Oh, I don't think I have too many clothes at all. It's just what a couple people have told me. I blame a small closet.
