Meeting a hated Legend

So, today I'm walking thru the halls of a Chapel Hell radio station - Hey Art!! 9f9f9f9f!! - and Phil Ford is walking toward me. He stopped by to do an interview with them. I walked up to him, introduced myself, shook his hand, and told him that as a Duke fan growing up, I hated him. We laughed, I showed him my Duke logo on my polo shirt and we parted ways with well wishes.

What would you have done/said to someone so revered in UNCheat history??

If you were lucky, CathyCA's Mom would be around to sneeze 14 times for you.

I would do what you did, Robertduke32. In fact, in Anaheim however many years ago I stayed at the KU team hotel. I ran into Roy Williams and he said something about the upcoming game (KU v Duke), I opened my jacket to show that I would be rooting for the other team - Duke. I did the same when I talked to their AD at the KU pep rally. I attended the game with KU fans.

I did not like the outcome of that game.

What was almost a horrible situation was this, said by a radio station employee about 30 seconds before Phil rounded the corner:

"You know we're the only 3 guys in Chapel Hill who haven't f**ked his wife, right?"

That would have been soooooo funny, but so very, very bad for him...and probably me since I was in the same room. But it would have been WINNING!!!!!

When told he was "almost here", I told the guy "Wait, I'll be right back with a 6-pack, hope he's not driving". The UNC 'tards were infuriated as I LMAO =)) =)) =)) back out of the room.

Go to hell you tarhole bastards!!

No, he still has no clue. I just snicker when I see his little troll-looking, smarmy ass in the hallway.

When my nephew, Max, was 6 years old, he and his parents were in Boone for a sky vacation December 2003. Max and Mark where in the hotel lobby when Max noticed a tall guy a few feet away and asked Mark, at the top of his lungs, "isn't that the coach who got fired?" The tall guy in question was Matt Doherty. Doh! They ended up having there picture taken with him and apparently he was quite gracious an courteous despite overhearing Max. :) :9f: :9f: :9f: :9f:

Summer 1987 I was barhopping in chapel hell with my friend Lucile. Michael Jordan and James Worthy were there. I danced with Michael Jordan, who dances almost as badly as I do. Regretfully, I didn't tell him I hate carolina. I'm a wimp.
