That's awesome, commanded most of the article
They got the Lisa Burdick of Durham a little bit off though.

I am now, and always will be, FROM Durham. I just happen to live near Boston. But the deal with the Lee Street Theatre people is they wanted NC playwrights. I asked them before submitting if the first 23 years of my life counted. They decided that it did and that they'd like to represent me as still being from Durham in their publicity. Fine by me!

Way to go, BD! Hope it goes well this weekend too.

Lisa, that is WAY cool!
I hope you have a sold out crowd all weekend! And I also hope that you get one of the theater groups at Duke to put on your play during next year's reunion weekend.
When I lived in San Jose, I worked out at the YMCA with Gail Boitano. Her husband was Brian Boitano's uncle. Brian Boitano and Ben Bennett went to the same high school: Peterson in Sunnyvale. I think that Peterson H.S. is a middle school now.
Have a safe trip to N.C. this weekend.

Way back when, on the DBR - TSNMTOWRIBYEOQPOIJH))(*$#&%_)*%, I had to pick out a post name. I thought, sports, OK, Duke is my favorite team followed closely by the Boston Red Sox. I thought DukeSox didn't sound so good, hence Bostondevil. Sorry, Ozzie.

I believe he was joking. Making a play on words. ;)
Congrats. I hope it's REALLY successful, BD.

Exactly, a play on words, or really initials. And not choosing DukeSox was a very very good decision!
No comment on the Red Sox, but my Yankees did win again this afternoon, as did the Sox, so they remained tied for first in the AL East.

Excellent review! I'm so excited for Saturday.
Woo hoo!!! I'm still rehearsing, though have been trying out a few other words to shout out. No worries, nothing that would embarrass you.

I have spoken with BD on the phone and she is, indeed, a real person! No longer an imaginary friend
Our current plan is to meet at the theater at 5 p.m. Saturday and go out to dinner from there. The plays start at 7:30, so that should give us plenty of time.

Ah, come on, you mean we can't ALL have it? From what I've heard, some of the guys on here would DEFINITELY be callin'.
On second thought, maybe you'd better not post it.

Awesome! I did some research looking for a good BBQ joint and came across Richard's. They serve Eastern NC BBQ. I'm down for whatever. WOO HOO.
