Also pointy-toed shin kicks and firm knees to the groin to your employer. May the fleas of a thousand camels infect your employer's armpits.

I have just donned my cowboy boots for the very best, heaviest, most painful shin kicks.
Seriously, hoping this turns out OK. Do keep us posted on everything, and let us know if we can provide anything beyond moral support (such as, perhaps, stink bombs).

Very eloquently stated; I could not have said it better myself. I echo my sister shin-kicker's sentiments.lawgrad91 wrote:captmojo wrote:Here is some shit, my compadres and I will be...

Re: Shit....
I'm somewhat pissed. There was a show on the History Chanel tonight about deep sea diving. A portion of it was about Duke and the record breaking dives in the Duke hyperbaric chamber. They talked about the 1000 ft. dive, the 2,132 dive and the last dive, some what deeper, can't remember how deep. Bud was a subject in the first 2 dives. He was the lead diver for both. Well, his name was never mentioned. In fact, they named someone else, who was in the dive as the lead diver in the third dive. Oh well, that's TV production. That's the way it goes. Well, our family knows the true story.

Re: Shit....
Really? To clarify, do you mean Bud was in the chamber, and was taken to a simulated depth, not actually going that far underwater?Very Duke Blue wrote:I'm somewhat pissed. I saw a little of that show. The basketball appeared to be runaways, so I surfed through some channels in a very sleepy stumble.

Re: Shit....
Yes, he was. The last dive (2,132 ft) he made was hard on him. He was 40 and that's too old. Bud was a deep sea diver and hospital corpsman in the Navy. He worked in the chamber at Duke for 26 years before moving on in the Duke system. He also went to PA school at Duke.DevilAlumna wrote:Really? Re: Shit....
Wow, that's impressive. Thanks to Bud for his service, and contributions to diving! I'm grateful I've never had to go on a chamber ride, but that's in part because folks like him made the research possible.Very Duke Blue wrote:Yes, he was. Donna posted this on FB: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.h ... wanted=all
I'm reading it now, and have forwarded it on to my husband, who does more of the tech/deep diving.
