When Cathy, K68, and I were at the NHL fanfest in Raleigh last month, we ran into a blackberry employee wearing a ref's uni, all the b-berry people were wearing ref jerseys. I asked the guy if he wanted my glasses and he looked at me kinda funny, I told that ref's never got the call right, perhaps they would like to use my glasses for future games. He chuckled, we laughed. Good times!

A few years back Mr. Windsor was a softball umpire for the Clearwater Recreation Leagues.

He umpired games on Halloween and showed up with a white cane and dark glasses .....he had one of concession guys lead him onto the field. It went over really well with everyone except the head umpire.

He wasn't escorted out because he yelled something. He went out onto the floor to do it. That's the no-no. I still maintain that refs were put on the Earth for the sole purpose of yelling at. It must be true 'cause they aren't good for anything else, bless their hearts.

Your scenario sounds much more plausible, did you read about this somewhere else?
