I hate they had the excuse to celebrate..DukePA wrote:Storm the court. cut the nets. may that be ALL they celebrate this year. Effing spaztards.OZZIE4DUKE wrote:They cut the fucking nets down after the game. For winning the regular season? Really?
We did the same thing last year. Our women did it this year too.OZZIE4DUKE wrote:They cut the fucking nets down after the game. For winning the regular season? Really?
LOL! Of course my selective memory will not allow me to remember those incidents!! Whew! I am so glad my post-game behavior has been above reproach on Facebook. It's killing me, though!!CameronBornAndBred wrote:We did the same thing last year. Our women did it this year too.OZZIE4DUKE wrote:They cut the fucking nets down after the game. They did 2 years ago, and, IIRC, we did last year, too. You were there. Do you remember us cutting down the nets after the 82-50 game?OZZIE4DUKE wrote:They cut the fucking nets down after the game. For winning the regular season? Really?
Now, now...I know you don't hate Ozzie or Cathy.devildeac wrote:
I still loathe them. I hate them more than you or Cathy.
I have hated them for longer than 40 years.devildeac wrote:I have hated them for almost 40 years.
Top that.

My wife has hated them nearly as long as I have.CathyCA wrote:I have hated them for longer than 40 years.devildeac wrote:I have hated them for almost 40 years.

I learned to spell D-U-K-E before I could spell my own name. My parents (Classes of '54 and '56) taught me well. My grandfather (Class of '24, although the Duke alumni directory lists him as '28) taught my dad well, too. Heck, my grandfather went to HIGH SCHOOL at Duke before it was Duke!
That's how long I have hated them. Since before I was born.
I also have a great uncle ('27), two uncles ('58 and '61), two aunts ('58 and '63), an ex-husband ('84) and his aunt ('54).devildeac wrote:My wife has hated them nearly as long as I have.CathyCA wrote:I have hated them for longer than 40 years.devildeac wrote:I have hated them for almost 40 years.

Her sister, ILJ, and her husband have hated them for 35-40 years each.
Our son, daughter and her fiance all went/go there and they hate them.
I was given state residency after living/working here for 5 years back in the 70s, and one day after that, was rejected from medical school there, being accepted to Wake (Wake Forest, not Wake Tech ) about 3 months later. Our son was also rejected from med school there and I fully anticipate our daughter will be also when she applies this year.
I loathe them athletically, psychologically, professionally, geographically, personally and journalistically. Plus, they dress their kids with nausea-provoking shade of blue.
Ya got me on the older generations, but I think I have tied it up with the current generation and/or sheer numbers.
Call it a draw?
