If Wilson can do it, I can too
Hello all my lovely CTN friends. It's probably time to admit what's been going on in my life the past few months. I think most of you know about Mr. BD's seizure. He's been thoroughly checked by his (UNC grad) neurologist and he's cleared to drive as soon as the 6 months are up. His MRI and EEG didn't turn up anything troublesome, he just needs to take a little bit better care of himself, particularly at stressful times.
But that's not been my major worry. Ronnie's MRI in October showed a 'tiny' bit of growth in his tumor. Tiny, that's the doctor's word, not mine. Watchful waiting was the recommended approach. I've been holding it together fairly well but the next MRI is on Wednesday. I'm ready to get the waiting part over with! His is the type of tumor that can have a little 'growth spurt' then lie dormant again for years, so, OK. If there are no changes this time, we're just in MRI every 3 months mode again. If it's grown some more, well, I don't know, but it probably means futher treatment sooner rather than later. Whatever the results, I'm ready to deal with them.

BS - I'm sorry to hear this. The hurry up and wait aspect of medicine is very frustrating. I will keep Ronnie and all of your family in my prayers. If it is ok, I'll ask my reunion group to add him to the prayer list also. They are the best group of prayers I know.
and to all of you.

Prayers and vibes that Ronnie's MRI is okey dokey. Hugs for you, BD!
Perhaps a visit from Kevin Youkilis will cure Ronnie. Better yet, a butt rub from KY, never mind.

Butt Rub is the name of one of our better BBQ place in Lexington. I REALLY DO hope it's something that BBQ can cure.TillyGalore wrote:Prayers and vibes that Ronnie's MRI is okey dokey. Hugs for you, BD!

So sorry to hear about Ronnie's tumor, BD. Sending the strongest healing vibes possible. I'll send shin kicks to the tumor, too.

Wow, BD -- that's so much going on, thanks for coming here to share and unload.
Huge hugs to you for being a fabulous wife/mom/caretaker.
And of course, vibes to Ronny that the tumor is still tiny!

Re: If Wilson can do it, I can too
Wednesday's scan showed more tumor growth. Overall it's only a tiny bit larger (2mm since last April) but it's enough to make Ronnie's doctor think it's time to start Chemo Round 2. He'll be taking an oral chemotherapy agent at home 5 days a month (Temador for the medical folks around here). His doctor is still very positive about his prognosis and Ronnie himself shows no physical signs of a problem, so, it could be worse, that's what I keep telling myself.
