What are some cool things to put Vinegar on?

I love vinegar. I find it to be the perfect alternative to sodium (well that, and lemon juice).

I love it on greens (such as turnip or collards or spinach) and also on cucumbers.

What is something that may be rather unconventional that you put vinegar on? I'm looking to experiment with tastes!

Malt vinegar is good on pretty much anything fried...the traditional fried fish, of course, but also french fries and fried chicken. It can also be a tasty condiment shaken onto a sandwich.
I love to marinate fresh cucumber and onion slices in equal parts white vinegar and water, plus a bit of black pepper.
Cider vinegar adds great flavor to meat marinades and sauces. Anything you want to have an extra bite will take on cider vinegar quite well. For dishes with an Asian flair, rice vinegar functions similarly...it's a very interesting pungent addition to teriyaki sauces and the like.

Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar on ice cream - or blackberry ginger balsamic vinegar - or blueberry, etc. I need to try all the varieties.

When I was young, I would always ask my mom when she was cooking chicken to cut up the chicken so that I could have the wishbone. My brother and I would always make a wish and pull on it. The one of us who got the bigger piece of the wishbone would have our wish come true, or so we thought.

I read in my Science book that if I soaked the wishbone in vinegar, it wouldn't break, but it would bend like it was made of rubber. So, I once soaked the wishbone in vinegar and played a trick on my brother with the wishbone that wouldn't break.

Those were fun times for a 9 year old.

Learn to make mango chutney. Top grilled/fried chicken or pork chops. Eat it.

A "splash" of vinegar in homemade vegetable soup is really good. It's a "down East" thing I learned in Kenansville.

Vinegar can also be a good cleaner when mixed with a few other ingredients.

That's my favorite step in the family Red Cake recipe.

Hmmmm. This sounds interesting. Sounds like sort of a Brunswick Stew thing. I shall try this one soon.

Thanks!
