Who's the worst ACC men's BB ref of all time?

As inspired by a discussion in another thread, who is the worst ACC ref OF ALL TIME?

Note: There are SOOO MANY to choose from. The list is not complete, but these are the names that keep on coming up in discussion in the Lavabe household.

Leny, who else? He was way to short to be a good ref, even had he wanted to be.

The funny thing is the ones who were truly bad we have no idea who they were. Lenny Wurtz wouldn't be an icon of bad reffing if he was a really bad ref, he would be at home watching tv yelling at the other refs with the rest of us. Maybe he just had a certain flair for making good calls at bad times?

His flair was making up shitty calls while standing 30-40 feet from the play while running across/down the court "blowing" mightily.

I only remember my grandfather yelling at the television for two reasons:
1. When he was asleep and someone would change the channel. "Hey! I was watching that."
2. When Lenny was refereeing games.

Lenny, without a doubt. I remember watching games in Cameron, hearing his whistle, and thinking, "He called WHAT?!?" Then the next trip down, someone (Thunder Dan Meagher, for example) would lay a Ray Lewis / James Harrison blindside hit on an opponent, with no foul call (sorry for the mixed sporting references...) Lenny had no consistency and no clue.

I guess I'm a geezer; I didn't know who "Jamie" was until I googled him... I heard a story that some people called Paparo "Freight Train" for the way he would barge from halfcourt into the lane to make a call, maximizing his TV exposure, but I didn't think he was a bad ref...

That's so funny. The man in front of me at the game tonight told me (while I was apparently channeling Dad) that he remembered how mad Dad would get at Lenny. It's probably a miracle he didn't have a stroke at a game, screaming at the short sucker.

You weren't the only one channeling Grandpa (Dad) last night! Kelly and I both were screaming! He would've been proud.
