Apropos of our discussion in the bargain hunting thread....

I lost my nice KitchenAid mixer because it was a wedding gift from MIL, and Oedipus couldn't bear to part with it, even though he'd never used it.

I wanted Merlin :O3 ; anything else was negotiable.

I kid you not. The first three things on ExLax's list of things he wanted in the divorce:

1. Big screen TV

2. Recliner chair

3. My beautiful elephant cocktail table. (He needed a place to put his beer when he watched TV on the Big Screen TV.)

I didn't care about the TV or the recliner. I do miss the elephant cocktail table.

Another thing I really miss is my Margaritaville machine. ExLax gave it to me for my birthday. It made the best frozen margaritas. It shaves the ice and then blends the drinks. He insisted on taking it. GRRR!

The video camera.

It was on my list of things. ExLax brought it to Christian's 5th grade promotion ceremony where he was supposed to hand it off to me. He dropped it. It broke.

The Calphalon.

It was an Oedipal moment. His mother had given the Calphalon to us for Christmas, therefore, he needed it. Never mind that he'd never cooked with it.

Oh, and let's not forget the roaster pan. Last Thanksgiving I borrowed my mom's roaster pan.

I miss my old roaster pan.

The Christopher Radko Christmas ornaments. He took most of them. I spent YEARS collecting them.

The "Watch Me Grow" paintings that I had made of my boys. I took them to the photographer at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months and then had paintings made from the pictures that I placed in a panel frame.

Somehow I lost the shredder.

Also, oddly enough, the Christmas lawn deer, Jack Buck and Doe-si-doe. He rented an apartment with no land, so I don't know what the need was for the lawn deer, but he kept them.

Now that bites.

The round Kirman panel rug.

I burned up the motor on my shredder during my last week in the former marital home. I ended up taking the rest of my files to a professional shredding service.

Yes, but they kind of set a standard. Every woman who looks at those paintings knows that there is no way he would have done everything it took to create those precious mementos. So in a sense, I'm hanging on the wall of his house, haunting them. :ymdevil:

Wedding china and flatware. He did mail an everyday knife to me at the courthouse. The front desk bailiff freaked out.

Was it a full set? What were your patterns?

In case I haven't mentioned it previously, ExLax sounds like a complete douchebag. He was completely petty in the list of items that he kept.
